Description:

This dynamic course offers a quarterly preceptor training program for nurses. Core areas of the program will include: bridging cultural and generational differences, defining role(s) and expectations (building the foundation), incorporating learning styles and teaching techniques, developing critical thinking, and utilizing our challenges tool kit (UHC/AACN best practice). Sessions begin promptly at 8:00 am.

Target Audience:

Experienced, inexperienced, preceptor mentors, and/or future preceptors are all welcome to the training (UCLA Health Staff only). Class size is limited so please enroll today.

Upcoming Dates (attendance for both days is required, No partial credit will be offered):

  • October 9th and 10th (Tuesday and Wednesday), 2018
  • December 6th and 7th (Thursday and Friday), 2019
  • January 28th and 29th (Monday and Tuesday), 2019
  • June 24th and 25th (Monday and Tuesday), 2019
  • August 26th and 27th (Monday and Tuesday), 2019
  • December 5th and 6th (Thursday and Friday), 2019

Time of the Course (attendance on day one is a prerequisite for day two):

Day 1: 8:00am - 5:00pm
Day 2: 8:00am - 5:00pm

Continuing Education Units:

Nurses will be awarded 15 ANCC contact hours for participating in the program.

UCLA Health is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.

Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, Provider number 12511, for 18 contact hours.

Please allow ample time for traffic and parking. No partial CE credit given.

Parking:

UCLA Staff are encouraged to park in their parking space and utilize shuttle services. Train Station is located near the intersection of Westwood and LeConte Ave. (next to Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf). The training classroom is located on the lower floor of the building. You can also track shuttles in real time here.
